Small Glass Replacement
Not every glass job requires a major project. We handle small glass replacements with the same precision and professionalism as our larger installations: tabletops, cabinet doors, mirror panels, shelving, and small window panes.
A&P Glass Solutions handles small glass replacements across Tampa Bay with precision. Tabletops, cabinet glass, shelving, small windows, mirrors -- no job is too small. We measure, cut, and install with the same care we bring to every project. Free estimates, same-day service for many standard jobs.
We handle all small-scale glass work including single-pane window replacements, glass tabletop fabrication, cabinet door glass, glass shelving, mirror cutting, jalousie window louvers, and picture frame glass. We work with clear, tempered, frosted, tinted, and decorative glass.
We bring our mobile workshop to your location, take precise measurements on-site, and in many cases can cut and install the replacement glass during the same visit. For specialty glass that needs to be ordered, we'll provide a clear timeline and schedule the installation at your convenience.
Professional glass work lasts because the details matter: the right thickness for the application, properly finished edges that look clean and feel safe, and quality materials that hold up in Florida's climate. We use UV-rated sealants, professional edge finishing, and the correct glass type for every job so the result looks right and performs well for years.
Glass Types We Work With
We stock and source every common glass type used in small-scale residential and commercial applications. Clear float glass is the standard for most replacements: it offers full transparency and comes in thicknesses from 3/32-inch up through 1/4-inch. Tempered glass goes through a heat-treatment process that makes it roughly four to five times stronger than annealed glass of the same thickness, and it shatters into small granular pieces instead of jagged shards. Any glass in a hazardous location per Florida code gets tempered.
Frosted glass is used heavily in bathroom windows, office partitions, and cabinet doors where you want light transmission without full visibility. We source both acid-etched frosted glass, which has a smooth satin finish, and sandblasted frosted glass, which has a slightly grittier texture. Tinted glass comes in gray, bronze, blue-green, and other shades that reduce glare and heat gain. In Tampa, bronze and gray tints are popular for sunrooms and west-facing windows. Patterned glass, including rain, reed, flemish, and obscure textures, adds a decorative element while maintaining privacy.
- Clear float glass: standard transparency, available in multiple thicknesses
- Tempered glass: heat-treated for safety, required in code-specified locations
- Frosted glass: acid-etched or sandblasted for privacy with light transmission
- Patterned glass: decorative textures like rain, reed, flemish, and obscure
- Tinted glass: gray, bronze, and blue-green options for glare and heat reduction
- Low-iron glass: extra-clear glass without the greenish tint of standard float
Where Small Glass Replacement Is Most Common
The most frequent small glass jobs we handle in Tampa Bay fall into a handful of categories. Tabletops are a big one: glass tops on patio tables, coffee tables, dining tables, and end tables crack from impact, thermal shock, or just years of use. We measure the table, recommend the right thickness and edge finish, and often have the new top cut and placed within an hour.
Cabinet door glass is another common call. Older kitchens, china cabinets, and display cases use glass inserts that crack or get cloudy over time. We match the thickness and style of the existing panels so the replacement blends in with the rest of the cabinet. Jalousie windows are unique to Florida and still found on thousands of porches and sunrooms across Tampa Bay. Each louvered pane is an individual piece of glass that clips into a metal frame operator. When one breaks, we replace just that louver. Picture frames, shadow boxes, and display cases round out the list. For these, we typically use 3/32-inch or 1/8-inch clear glass, though some customers prefer non-glare glass for artwork.
